BasQ Qiskit Fall Fest 2024

September 19, 2024

The BasQ Qiskit Fall Fest, set to take place on November 19th and 20th will feature two main activities, designed to engage both seasoned practitioners and newcomers in the field of Quantum Computing.

BasQ Qiskit Fall Fest

The first BasQ Qiskit Fall Fest will kick-off with an intensive Qiskit Beginner Course & Challenge specifically tailored for students from different disciplines (Physics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, etc.) and degrees (Bachelor, Master, PhD, Vocation School Students, etc.) with no previous knowledge of Quantum Computing. This beginner-friendly workshop will introduce the fundamentals of Quantum Computing and progressively explore Qiskit's capabilities, gearing up students for the guided Challenge, which follows immediately after. During this Challenge, participants will have the opportunity to showcase their skills and compete for fantastic prizes sponsored by BasQ and IBM Quantum.

The Qiskit Beginner Course & Challenge will take place on November 19th, simultaneously at Mondragon University´s campus in Zorrotzaurre and at the UPV/EHU Faculty of Computer Science in Donostia, from 15:00 to 19:00.

Following the Course & Challenge, we will host a Practitioner Workshop, where experienced users of BasQ's quantum infrastructure, along with researchers who have conducted various experiments on our quantum machine, will share their experiences, insights, lessons learned and results. This forum aims to foster discussions around common challenges using IBM quantum devices, and to facilitate networking and knowledge exchange within our community of quantum computing enthusiasts. Of course, the workshop is also open to those with little to no experience in using quantum systems (such as participants from the Qiskit Beginner Course & Challenge held the previous day) to provide them with a firsthand look at how quantum computing research is conducted.

The Practitioner Workshop will be held on November 20th at CFM/MPC´s auditorium, in Donostia, from 10:00 to 13:00.
